Herman Cain(I hope I spelled that right)is another one who is a black Republican. I respected him more than anyone else in that election, and I do not even identify with the Republican party.
Yeah, take your "Republicans are racist" nonsense somewhere else. People like you are causing that word to lose its meaning. On the Ben Carson question, he seems like an extremely smart, well tempered man, but I seriously doubt he has the requisite skills to be president. I've seen him say next to nothing on policy, and I wonder how much he knows about things like congressional procedure, etc. Still, he is probably my 4th choice in the republican primary. He should not have called out Trump about his faith in public. That was a low blow even though I doubt Trump has been 'born-again'.
Yeah, I think Carson made a blunder there by saying that about Trump. He took the bait and said something he shouldn't have. But I'll definitely vote for him if he gets the nomination, of course.
It looks like Carson might do really well though I still doubt he'll get the nomination. A new, national, GOP polls shows that support [for Carson] has been steadily going up. Last month he'd have got 6% of all republican votes but as of 15th September he was up to 23%. And he's still edging closer to Trump. I wonder how the GOP will "fix" this so they can give the nomination to a candidate they favor.
At least he'd be a better president than that McAffee guy I don't know... I still don't see why he would be a good president or why does he even want to become a politician.
Thoughts on this? http://www.businessinsider.com/ap-gop-candidate-carson-muslim-shouldnt-be-elected-president-2015-9 I don't know: how can one of the best neurosurgeons in the world still be a devout Christian? Doesn't he believe in evolution?
I think he is a flash in the pan quite frankly. He doesn't know a great deal about the issues as is evident from watching him in the debates. Plus, even though I hate to say this, part of the reason some people don't like Obama is due to his (race) I think it is highly unlikely another Black candidate is going to end up as President. I think he is a good man, but should probably stick to being a doctor.
Ben Carson just said today: This is the same thing as saying: "No black man should be president", "No woman should be president", "No gay/lesbian/transgender person should be president" Freedom of religion is at the top of the bill of rights. The US Constitution additionally states: "no religious test shall ever be required as a qualification to any office or public trust under the United States" These are pretty major parts of our laws. If he has trouble understanding the clauses taught in High School Civics class, I don't trust him with the more complicated parts less talked about.
Yes, but Islam doesn't have a good reputation in US, especially after 9/11 and the insane number of soldiers killed in Irak and Afghanistan. Most of of the people make the connection between terrorism and Islam and, at least at some level, they are right to do so. Is this the card Ben Carson is really playing?
