The last two were on my iPod at one point or the other. I love Phantom Planet. I wish they would get back together, even though I like Coconut Records. I've been a They Might Be Giants fan since I first saw them on Homestar Runner whenever I was younger.
The whole soundtrack for The Hours by Philip Glass is golden. Won an Academy and all that, the music was the star of the film really aside from Kidman's fake Woolf nose.
I think the original series of CSI as the most recognizable theme tune and its bound to be a popular favourite with a lot of people due to the band who played the song. If you don't know who it is, then you need to look it up and expand your musical horizons I think.

I absolutely love Mirai Nikki's opening, and Kuroshitsuji season two ending. When it comes to TV series I really enjoy listening and watching sense8 and Orange is the new black intro, I really like Regina Specktor and the sense8 theme is really beautiful! I'm on mobile so I can't really post the videos here, but you should look up for them!
The theme song for Game of Thrones. It is brilliant and tells a story to me. We normally DVR the show because it comes on late and my OH gets annoyed at me because I will not allow him to fast forward through the intro theme song.
Mirai Nikki has a really great opening. Not too fond of Kuroshitsuji thought. Watamote and cromartie high have really great openings though!
