Honestly, I don't know what I do for recreation, but I guess smoking a few cigarettes a day might be it.
what do you do for recreational purposes?

I swim. It is partly for recreation and partly for exercise. However, swimming season here in Virginia, is about at an end. I might be able to go a couple of more times before the water is too cold. I also like to travel, and hike. I like to play tennis,go to movies out to dinner and shop. There are a lot of things I like to do really, but I don't always get the opportunity to do them.

I work really long hours in my career. I do enjoy time with the family (the kids are at such a cute age), some shooting sports (trap, skeet, target), hiking, and working out at the gym. Failing that, a nice Gin & Tonic and a good comedy show is a good way to unwind.

My recreation used to be biking. I would ride for an hour or two inside our village to shed off some fats and to get energy for the next day. But when I had that continual swelling on my leg, I quit riding for now. As for my recreation, I am just being content with Facebook when I have nothing to do although I'm sure glad that we have planned trips every now and then so I don't get bored with life. Next week we are going to Vietnam for a brief tour - that's a pretty good recreation, isn't it?

I jog a lot in the afternoon after which I workout. I feel happy and energized when I do and it gives me time to think about work and family while getting some fresh air. Otherwise I'd get myself a glass of whiskey or bourbon and relax while watching a good film.

I dig that, TheApollonian. The two things that you mentioned are my favorites. Exercise is such a good habit. a little alcohol plus a good film could be enjoyable as hell.

Sports, both doing them myself and also watching them from the TV. And a bit of sports betting at the same time. :p
Then I guess movies/tv series, music and obviously all of this financial stuff. (yes, it's both a hobby and an income source)

I do not have much time right now to do recreational things, but I really like to go hiking when I have the time. It is a very relaxing way to spend the day and just let my mind escape for a while. I also enjoy reading books when the weather outside is crappy. I can get lost in the world and storyline that I am reading about.

For me, it's a good book, television and a couple of cold beers every now and then. When the weather is warmer, it's nice to go hiking or camp out. I don't really have the time to do much else, I always seem to be either at work or sat in front of the computer.

Although, sitting in front of the computer is also a bit fun, right? so that counts too my friend.
