I'd also think that tourism wouldn't exactly be a wise investment either. Surely less and less people are going to be going to the middle east in the coming years, not even on business trips due to the volatile situation in the region.

Investing in an hotel is probably the last thing anybody should he thinking about I would have thought.

I wouldn´t call it tourism as I would call it ´hotels´ and that is something that will be needed for businessmen. I don´t think anyone is suddenly going to take their family to Iran for their summer vacation, but I do think a lot of big US companies are going to be planting some of their workforce over there. But that said, I am not sure that is really something you can play in the market unless you can find a smaller company. For bigger hotels, it will be a spit in the ocean of their profits.

Before the rule of religious oppression Iran was actually a great travel destination, and in many ways it still is. When I was in India I met a couple from Bulgaria who hitchhiked from Bulgaria to India and went through Iran on the way. They said the warmth and hospitality of the people in Iran were remarkable. Oftentimes the people wouldn't understand they wanted to hitchhike and kept trying to give them money for transport and food. They stayed in the houses of people they met on the street and didn't have a single bad experience. The woman did complain that the families they stayed with were not comfortable with her going out of the house by herself and that the 'fashion police' in Tehran hassled her if any hair came out of her head covering, but other than the culturally ingrained sexism they were still wonderful people. This goes to show that in the places that we vilify for being terrible, it is not the people en masse that are terrible, but rather the power hungry elites. An Australian I met who traveled through Iran also said it would be a great place for travel, as Iran has many amazing cultural sites and artifacts. Granted, I imagine the sentiment towards Americans might be soured at this point. But maybe not - when I traveled Vietnam I could still see places and people that were affected by the war, yet everyone was incredibly nice to me knowing that I'm American.
Lastly, shame on anyone who says "oh just blow them up" - people live there and suffer because of their corrupt religious and political leaders.

People who say that aren't exactly thinking Alyce, just blow them up doesn't show any concern by innocent people. Well, this is what has been happening when billions are involved.

You don't blindly invest then "hope for the best".

You might as well stick to roulette wheels and powerball with that strategy.

I know lots of people who travel extensively, but I don't know of any sane people wanting to vacation in Iran these days.

Giving up concessions and easing sanctions BEFORE entering formal negotiations or getting the other side to agree to anything is not how one should negotiate - particularly when dealing with proven liars.

Iran already has made money through Obama costing $150 billion tax payers' money. UN agency, IAEA, said to let Iran inspect its own alleged nuclear power activity site, ceding investigative authority to Iran.

    US and Iran

Just because the US an Iran have struck a reluctant deal with each other doesn't mean they are friends. I don't think the United Statesg is eaer to befriend any country that is shouting "Death to America" on a regular basis. I think we are so desperate for an ally in the Middle East besides Jordan, we have struck this deal, in a spirit of accommodation and mutual economic benefit.

Iran can use their nuclear power sites as tourist spots. Sell tickets for day tours there. Build luxury hotels around the nuclear sites and showgrounds for reactor exhibits and target practices. Btw, Obama should have withdrawn $150 billion nuclear deal for the release of 4 American prosoners in Iran.
