Following the Paris attacks, presidential hopeful Marco Rubio said he had the solution to killing terrorism. In an interview Rubio said if he was CIC he would close down any place where radicals are inspired. This includes mosques. http://www.breitbart.com/national-s...r-anyplace-where-radicals-are-being-inspired/ Would radicals find other places to meet? It's no crime for someone to "hang out" with friends be it in public places or at any private residence.
He's right that nearly all radicals are brought together and taught in mosques and they use that religion as a shield to hide from the authorities, but just closing down the mosques will just drive them to other areas, and probably drive them even more underground.
Hey America, you have too many guns. "OMG YOU CAN'T TELL US WHAT TO DO!" Then Americans turn around "Hey world you can't have Mosques"
Of course they would just find other places to meet. These people have shown time and again that they are dedicated to their cause, and they're not stupid. Plus it's sort of shooting themselves in the foot if the Republicans want to reach out for more minority voters--actions that, at least on the surface, appear to be bigoted are...well, they're not that popular around here.
Closing mosques isn't a solution because often they will meet in coffee shops or market stalls these days, because they know some mosques are being monitored and maybe some undercover agents are also there. Trying to control people doesn't stop them, as many are also recruited in schools, colleges, and online. How does anyone really know where people get inspired? Sometimes it's down to the family members to notice changes and to act on them.
I think closing down any Mosques would be counterproductive. Muslims would feel they are being unfairly targeted and radical opportunists would use it to their advantage to convince disillusioned Muslims to "join them" so together they can fight their enemies. It would be better IMHO to find ways to neutralize radical Islam. The government should work together with moderate Muslims to get it done.
The problem with trying to work with moderate Muslims though is hard, because the so called moderate Muslims seem to have lost their voice at the moment. After the Paris attacks I've heard a lot of people say that you can't blame Muslims as its ISIS that did that, but I've still not heard any senior Muslim figure come out and condemn the attacks like a lot of other people have.
I think GOP presidencial candidate, Marco Rubio, is given much attention in the poll counts by U.S. citizens who are sick and tired of their president who will not even mention the words, "radical Islamists"," radical jihadists" and the same Obama shows sickening sentiments to the islamic terrorists. This is appaling! On Fox News Hannity: Sen. Marco Rubio: "We are at war with radical jihadists." People's and Fox News poll: Most important issue facing U.S. National security leaders need to address, however and wherever necessary: 1. Terrorism 24% 2. Economy 21% 3. Foreign Policy 7% 4. Health Care 7% 5. Immigration 7%
Just another ploy to key into the fears of American citizens. Just realize that he will be no different than the President preceding him if elected. Look at the exchange of presidency from Bush to Obama. The national debt continues to pile up. The wars in the Middle East, still undeclared, have spiraled into a clusterfuck. Our tension with other foreign powers is growing once again.
But can´t you say the same thing about Christianity? Something like 70% of the USA is Christian, yet the only ones you hear of are the radicals screaming about abortion and gay marriage. My church in the USA seats about 5000 every Sunday and is evangelical. I have NEVER heard our pastor or anyone talk about gay marriage. Some people may not like homosexuality, but there is certainly no frenzy about saying gay marriage is the downfall of western civilization or that gay marriage in any way ruins normal marriage. It is not a new flash that the most radical among a group of people are also the most vocal.
