Betterment? Hmmm... never heard of that. I *have* heard of each of the ten on this list, though. Is that truly an established and respected broker?

I haven't heard of Betterment.com either, could you tell us a bit more Diane?
If anyone else backs it up I might check it out.

Great list. I have tried a few and others requirement higher investments to get a good yield. How about Sharebuilder.com? They've been pretty reliable and I have used them for about 15 years.

As a newer person entering the ring of investing, I'd like to know more about each brokerage or if people really do like them. The way this is wrote, it looks like personal recommendations, which is okay but there's no explanation of how each website is used or personal stories of how these places stand out. More information would be way helpful.

I think owning a brokerage might be something you can do if you're not only an amazing investor but trained in pretty much every aspect of business. I think that anyone who studies enough can be an okay day trader, but I think you might be out of your element as far as opening a brokerage goes.

Yes, absolutely... the names on that list are companies that have been around for quite a while and have gone through the fire and stood firm. I don't think I'd want to start a brokerage even if I'd have the millions to put into it.

On Betterment.com, i was just doing some searches online and i came across some reviews that were in positive light in regard to the same, i have not used it yet as i like doing thorough homework before i dive in wholeheartedly, i don't want to be scathed in the process, so i was just asking if anyone has used the site, if they'd be kind enough to give count of their experience there!
