You should fear death if you're not saved through Jesus Christ. Because eternity will be miserable for you if not. But those who are saved have nothing to fear.

Jesus clearly would not want you for a sunbeam.

How do you know if you're saved, and how do you know if you're not saved?

I'd like to think there is, but I doubt there is anything at our destination. We just simply go back to not existing, like before we were born.

My mum always said to me that when we die we go to a happy place where you can do all the things you love to do all the time, and I think it's because of that that I have a little bit of hope in an afterlife because if there is she will be there knitting right now :D

Good question! I am afraid of the pain that I may get through when I die, and what is going to happen after that... It's really scary for me to think that all the things that I have accomplished and the things that I have learned my life don't have a meaning at the end of the day.

People always ask what the meaning to life is but I believe that you cannot find a meaning, you have to make your own meaning to being here.

I'm like you though, I do get a little depressed when I think that all that I've done and all that I've learnt does not matter one bit when the time comes for me to pass on. It makes me think things are pretty pointless, but with that in mind I wouldn't want to lay around and waste away while life passes me by, I still want to experience and learn stuff, even if the end result is pointless.

    Yes there is.

Provided you had a good life by your own definition the only reason to fear death is not for yourself, but for those you leave behind who loved and depended on you.

We're just a sack of bones and flesh that eventually decays and rots... we're not any different than the rest of species living on this planet. Death is part of our life. Nothing lasts forever in this world, why should we? I accept the fact once we die it's going to be total blackout... or at least reincarnating into some sort of living in a parallel universe... the possibilities are endless.

My grandfather died 3 times in his life before he had heart surgery. All three times they reanimated him in time and we always asked how it was to be dead.
All three times he said that he was at peace and he was at the airport waiting for his flight. He wasn't even surprised anymore after his third heart attack. He just said that didn't get to catch his plane yet.
In 1992 he finally took his plane.
Ever since, I do not fear death. I'll just be getting on my flight.
