Gas in my area is *finally* under $2/gal. I was beginning to wonder what's going on because it seemed as if most other areas in the country were paying a lot less than here. Anyhow, I paid $1.99 on Saturday and now I saw that two days later, the same place is $1.95 so still going down. What are you paying in your area? And second question, just how low do you think it will go?
There are areas in NJ where the price is ~$1.72 and you don't have to pump it yourself. It may fall below $1.70, but not by much.
I just heard about somewhere today where it's... uh, I'm pretty sure it was under $1.50. ($1.46 I do believe.) It was in the Fredericksburg, VA area. I'm guessing it's because of the location relative to ports? In any case, hope it's still like that when I'm heading down I95 in a few weeks!
Arizona. Gas is down to about $1.70 here. Local news doesn't have much to say about it. Does anybody have a better idea about what's going on, here? I remember everybody was really upset years ago that gas cost $3.00+ a gallon. And the price stayed there for awhile, and seemed like it was going to stay there forever. So people stopped complaining about it; you stopped hearing about it in the news. But now gas is down to $1.70. What the hey? Does anybody know what forces cause such a drastic fluctuation in the price of a single commodity in such a short period of time? It's not like new sources of oil have suddenly made themselves more available in the last ten years...
Seriously? This board is littered with threads in several forums on the oil glut with OPEC's intent and attempt to put the US frackers out of business. With the lifting of sanctions, Iran is about to add even more oil to the market. Start with http://www.bullmarketboard.com/threads/6256-Oil-still-around-45-isn-t-production-price-the-problem as one example of the discussion. The web sites of Bloomberg and CNBC have numerous stories. China's industrial slowdown also impacts the oil price; their oil purchases have slowed. HTH.
$1.1 per LITER here Even if the oil companies decided to give us gas for free, we'd still have to pay about $.60 per liter in taxes. It's stupid, but so are the Romanian politicians.
Just got back from Florida, IIRC it was a little under $3.00 per gallon for premium. Around 1.4 euros per litre here currently for the normal stuff.
It's at 2.50 over here in Northern California. I'm definitely getting annoyed. California is the highest average cost per gallon right now in the United States. I'm praying we get to the 1.50 level. That will be the day I rejoice and fill my take with a 20 dollar bill haha.
Wow! Amazing! But the question is how long will it last? How long can we stay below two dollars a gallon?
