I for one think school uniforms are just absolutely ridiculous. Why can't people wear what they want?
But that is a little beside the point. If these are the rules then of course they should be enforced... and the students are of course aware of these rules so I don't see where the problem is.

I'm glad, girls need to be more modest. I'm sick of seeing them with no respect. I hope they continue with the rules.

Schools are not for education only, In School, we go to learn discipline also. her mother must understand that. If she have any complain against school, better she find another school for her daughter or find any legal way.

I'm sort of glad this is happening because it seems like schools had become pretty relaxed with uniforms in recent years. It's good they are enforcing these rules for a proper uniform as it should at least give the kids some morals to start off with.

While it's easy to say that children should be able to wear what they want to school, and what they wear doesn't impact on their education I have to disagree.

As others have also said, school isn't just about learning, it's about discipline and learning structures and values aswell. A lot of inner city schools offer places to children from all different backgrounds so having a uniform is one way of making them see that at school at least, they are all the same and will be treated that way.

A child from a poor, single parent family whose mother works every hour God sends and walks to school is worth exactly the same as the child whose mother and fathers are both lawyers who gets dropped outside the school gates in the brand new range rover.

That's just one of the reasons a uniform is important and should be adhered to in my eyes.

I work next to a high school and the things I see some of those young girls wear to school is terrible. We would never have gotten away with that when we were in school. They are wearing the short, short, short shorts with their behinds hanging out, see through shirts, shirts that leave little to the imagination. I can't believe that people allow their kids to walk out of the house looking that way. I think if the school does not have uniforms the children still need to dress appropriately.

I think a dress code matters in terms of maintaining a certain decorum and standard within a learning institution. I can already see feminists getting up in arms about these girls being shamed somehow, or whatever, but rules are rules. Wear what you want on your own time, don't complain when you're on the receiving end of consequences for breaking the rules.

When children leave school and start work, most jobs require their employees to either wear a uniform or dress suitably for the role they're performing, so I dint see the problem with schools doing the same thing.

Schools here are also pretty strict with regards to uniform. For instance, here's a list of what my college doesn't allow:

    1. Shorts
    2. Spaghetti Straps
    3. Sleeveless
    4. Mini-Skirts
    5. Flip-flops
    6. Plunging Necklines
    7. Leggings

If you are wearing any of these, you aren't even allowed to enter the school premises. And for me, I think it's good to set rules with regards to clothing in school. I mean, for me, we're in school to learn, not to ramp in a fashion show. Unless of course, your school is a fashion school, mine wasn't. And abiding by the rules is just one of the many steps we have to take to be able to graduate in time, lol.
