It's merely speculation at the present but just think of it . . .

By 2050 people will be able to shrink their sleeping hours by improving their sleeping environment. That's what smart will do. They'll monitor your sleeping patterns and automatically adjust temperature, light and sound to ensure your comfort without disturbing your sleep cycle.

    The cure for insomnia?

It could be useful, but it also sounds like it's taking advantage of insomniacs to allow for further government intrusion and big brother to monitor how you sleep at night and what you do while you are sleeping. I don't like that one bit, and would rather sleep with an old-fashioned blanket, adjust the heater myself if it were too hot or too cold, and manage my own environment for a cozy night's sleep. There are just some things that they should not be intruding into, and the goodnight sleep of someone is one of them.

This is nice. I like the idea of having a good night sleep without any kind of interruption or disturbance. Shorter hours of sleep but quality sleep. Hopefully it would be a good remedy for insomnia but we can't make sure of the effectivity yet until after it is finally released on the market.

It's a nice idea, but it takes more to get a good nights sleep. It can't cure anxiety for example which is cause of poor sleep, plus it can't stop any outside noise or lights which also disturbs sleep.

Maybe for some people it could help, but it's not a cure. A hot bath can still work as it relaxes the body and that's the best way to go to sleep, relaxed.

It's a pretty nice idea and something that I should imagine seeing on a show like Tomorrows World.

I just feel however that this is in a way cheating. It's making alterations to make you sleep rather than your self letting your body sleep if you understand what I'm getting at. Innovative but I'm very sceptical.

Where do I sign up?? I will try the prototype. I do sometimes have trouble sleeping and getting these pjamas sound like heaven. It is usually when it is too hot in my room is when I have the most trouble sleeping. This can be a real problem when I am trying to sleep in the summertime. When it gets super hot the AC just doesn't cool enough.

Technology seems to be taking over everything else these days so it wouldn't surprise me if in the future it played a hand in the way we slept aswell.

While technology is making life significantly easier for a lot of people in all walks of life, isn't there sometimes it can go a little too far though, this being one of them?

I like the idea. Where can I sign up? What I wouldn't give for a good nights sleep!

Something about the sound of this doesn't sit well with me. I've always been a late adopter when it comes to new technology, I realise that, but I just don't like the idea of "smart pajamas"!!!! Maybe I'm just getting old!:)
