For those of you who watched the Superbowl yesterday, what was your favorite commercial? My personal favorite was the puppy monkey love one, but I do not even remember what the advertisement was for. That is the crazy part. Do people outside of America watch the Superbowl?
Yeah I liked the puppy monkey baby one. It was some drink... non alcoholic.. can't remember which though. I didn't think that commercial was THAT good but it's the only one that made me laugh out loud. Which is what super bowl commercials should do. So I think it was a pretty weak year, this add just won because it took sillyness over the top.
I really like at the end where the one guy was talking about how his team was trying really hard but the other team was trying really hard too but luck caught up and sports happened. Then next year they are going to train really hard and make some changes since they are team building, but the other team will do the same thing too. I swear I don't understand how people find this stuff entertaining....
Haha yeah that was a good one from Manning. I certainly laughed. Who knows, maybe that was adventising too, though I can't recall seeing Manning in a Budweiser commercial.
I'm not from the U.S. but I've seen some of the highlights on the news specially the performances from famous singers which were really grand. I didn't expect Lady Gaga to be singing the American National Anthem but she actually nailed it. I can just imagine how big the Super Bowl event is, the whole area was jam packed with people.
I was also going to say even though the commercials cost like three million dollars, Budweiser got the best advertising of the evening when Manning said he's going home to have a lot of Budweiser in his speach after the game...I wonder how much he got for saying that?
I liked the one with Kevin Hart. I got a chuckle out of that one, and also he Steven Tyler one for the novelty. That was pretty nice. I don't remember the puppy, baby one. I am sure people will be voting on the best commercials though. That is a poll that seems to be done every year. It will interesting to see the winner.
The majority of NFL games are sold out or very very close to it. Hell there are teams where the waiting list for a season ticket is decades long. So you can imagine what it's like for SuperBowl... I think the ticket prices were around $6k for the cheapest seats. (that is the aftermarket, I don't know how much they originally charged for those)
The super bowl, love it or hate it, is the most watched, televised event in the world, so it's no surprise that the price for an advertisement slot ran into the millions. The result and parts of the game have even been shown here in England many times since Sunday, and this country is probably the least interested in it than any other, so that just shows the amount of pulling power it's got.
