I'm Keisha btw...Personally i think top Saudi cleric Abdullah Aziz Al-Sheik was wrong to forbid the playing game of "Chess".I think it's kind of sad actually because the game of Chess is actually a metaphor for the games we play in life. The game of Chess is actually a metaphor for playing of games in and of itself.I thin kit teaches us the art of playing the game. And in forbiddign it in our religion we are effectively going to forget the ancient artform of Chess. Thnx 4 Listening!Keisha!
Why would anyone forbid chess? Can you explain to me? I am open to everything and have no boundaries. I respect religions and people but I really don't see the logic behind this. What harm chess can cause? Does this mean that Saudi Arabia doesn't have chess masters and is this an isolated case or are there more countries with this, I can say, issue?
That is the craziest thing I ever heard of. What is going to be banned next??? checkers? It simply makes zero sense. I agree that many of the rules in some conventional religions are bizarre and based however loosely by suggestions in their holy books but this one has to take the cake. It is so silly...!
This makes absolutely no sense. Why would they do that and what would be the reason behind it. There are plenty of things that could be banned that may be harmful but chess. That is just insane to me. I wold like to hear more about this anday the reasoning behind their decision.
I don't think there's any [religious] law that actually does forbid playing a "harmless" game. It's the cleric's interpretation of the texts that is all wrong. Islam might forbid gambling but chess isn't gambling. Now if they banned messing around with Ouija boards that would be quite different.
Is that banning of chess related to their religion or is it just about some religious people making the mistake of playing chess during the time of prayer? This is an absurd news although I am not saying it isn't true. But maybe you should have included a link to bolster your post because it seems to be out of logic. And what has chess got to do with religion? I wonder what's wrong with some people in posting issues like that.
While I'm not a religious person myself, sometimes you can see the sense in things being banned in the name of religion, even thou you don't agree with it, but chess? I definitely fail to understand why chess or any game for that matter would be able to offend any religion that much that they'd have to come out and ban it.
Banning chess? Why? I cannot see any logical reasoning behind banning a game where all that is asked of you is some sort of skill. I saw this on the news a couple nights back and it left me completely lost for words. I just cannot get it around my head so to why it would be banned for whatever reason.
Can you further explain why they have forbidden it? What else do they forbid that other people would deem harmless? This is interesting and I've never heard of that before.
