Ben Carson's decision to endorse Trump was purely driven by selfish motives. The Donald apparently had promised him a position in his administration should he win the election. http://www.alternet.org/election-20...-his-top-secret-position-trump-administration Looks like Carson might get what he wanted after all.
I don't think it was purely motivated by selfish interests, they had a lot in common anyway. Maybe surgeon general? I'm not sure if the president can appoint a surgeon general though. Whatever it is, I'm sure Carson will be a positive addition to a Trump administration.
That was my first thought when I heard the news. Basically what else can Carson do as he is semi-retired with a failed Presidential election campaign. I never liked or trusted him, and couldn't see why others did. Now all he is done is reconfirm his true motives.
Yep, I knew they had made some kind of a deal. It really makes me disrespect Ben Carson, who I think is a decent guy, and supposedly a devoted Christian. I mean Donald Trump is such a careless loudmouth that I think any true Christian would not endorse him. That is just my opinion, but that is the way I feel. He certainly doesn't subscribe to the "meek shall inherit the earth" philosophy, or "judge not lest ye be judged."
I guess nobody there is really a Christian. It's kind of mandatory to portray yourself as a Christian to make yourself a successful career in politics. So, I don't really believe their words and actions shown on the TV.
Seriously? One of the problems with Trump supporters is that they don´t know enough about government to even make an informed vote. It was like with Sarah Palin when she ran for vice president and said that the vice president was in charge of the senate ( the vice president only gets to cast a vote if there is a tie in the senate). Yes the surgeon general is appointed by the President, and yes it is am important appointment and has been controversial in the past few decades because of issues like drug use, abortion and now vaccines ( especially against HPV). And of course Trump has promised Christie and Carson jobs. That is what he does, makes deals. I am betting Sessions has a cabinet post also. As it gets closer to the convention, more people will jump onboard looking for their next job.
Trump may be a maniac, indeed. But I think that he wouldn't of created an empire without surrounding himself with good people. Sure, at this moment, this is more of an ego thing for him rather than a positive thing for the USA, but I really doubt that he won't surround himself with competent people.
Hopefully people will wake up and smell the coffee before Trump ever gets near the white house. Hell, I along with many political pundits, and late night comics..never thought he would get this far, so all bets are off the table at this point. Hmmm, think I will find a Dump Trump bumper sticker to put on my car!
Trump is being smart by seeking to recruit Carson into his corner, I believe this move will enable a bit more support for Trump. However, I see Carson as a sellout. He as sold out to Trump who he had once opposed for a possible position in the establishment.
