It's easy to drown yourself in something as in a religion and pretend for awhile that it makes you completely happy, or to be blissfully unaware of the other things that are going on around you. That being said, I think that we make our own happiness. Whether or not a person is religious doesn't really play a huge part in their happiness, in my opinion.

Well, I think it really depends on how a person sees life in general. There are religious people who are really happy with their lives while there are also those who still seem to be looking for something more. Athiests can also be happy in their own way or not. As for me, my happiness comes from my contentment with all the blessings I am receiving, either big or small. I'm happy to be living a healthy life together with my family despite the fact that we are not rich when it comes to money and material things. :)

I think it depends on the person and their individual psyche. I knew someone who was heavily involved in her church who ended up attempting suicide. The reason she gave was she felt she "wasn't good enough, in the eyes of God." I think her being religious weighed heavily on her, and caused her to feel more unhappy than if she had been without it. So, there are no real answers to this question. I would say in general, religious people probably are happier due to the sense of community.

I guess they are, as they have some kind of a universal answer to all their questions. And this answer is God.
