Interesting to note that the odds for the UK staying in the UK shrunk substantially in the aftermath of the Brussels attack, although still has the lead

Also important to note Donald Trumps odds of becoming president also increased from about 5/1 to 4/1 in the aftermath

When terrorist attack like this occur, its bound to have a significant impact upon many different things, and aswell as those two sets of odds shrinking, it's also caused a huge fall in the stock market and especially in the travel and tourism sector.

That sector was making a steady recovery ever since the Paris attacks, but obviously any form of attack on a transport network or system is bound to have severe repercussions as we're seeing.

It does mean a lot. More than likely, it means that Germany should have kept its borders closed, and Ms. Merkel is responsible for the deaths of 30+ people in an attack that could have easily been avoided if she had not released the flood gates to people who did not belong in that country.

There is so much madness and horrible things going on in the streets there now that it should have never got to this point.

I feel bad for the people it's affected, and you are correct that it will affect them and their families as well as business. It will affect the stock market and investments just as much. Not in a good way for people investing in Germany with issues going on now.

Lets hope they increase their security and try to prevent it from happening again.

I am saddened and sickened by the ISIS attacks in Europe and here. My heart goes out to the folks in Belgium. I've also read that our friends in the UK are on high alert for potential attacks. Here's hoping nothing happens, but to those in that area, please stay safe.

I'm not too surprised by the political reaction in the UK or here. And it is, of course, one of Obama's most glaring failures: to put an end to ISIS. His, lack of leadership, lack of vision, his endless dithering, and outright, bumbling incompetence on this particular front is simply scandalous. History will not judge him favorably when it comes to the rise of, arguably, the most vicious of terrorists organizations.

As someone who believes the UK should leave, one must remember that the EU Schengen countries have been aware of this potential risk for years. When Paris happened then they decided to reinstate temporary borders, but clearly that hasn't worked after yesterday. The flaws in the system where the benefit of free movement outweighs the cost of lives and the security of the citizens is not worth skipping a simple border control.

Basically lessons have not been learned after Paris and show the EU is incapable of functioning.

This is not Obama's fault and as someone who is in the UK, we have been on alert for a couple of years. Police regularly patrol tube stations, airports and places that maybe targets. You must remember with the IRA bombings the UK has always had some kind of system to try to avoid these incidents before ISIS became a household name.

Victoria train and coach station has the police station next door to it and is on the same road as the tube station, so there is always some presence as a deterrent. As the UK does have trains and ferries to Belgium it is a concern as people take day trips and many people use it as a port to drive over to the European mainland, but it just means tighter checks before people are allowed in.

I think the majority of the pickup for Trump was the fact that yesterday it was obvious he was going to win Arizona and the 58 delegates. Before Arizona, he needed to win 54% of the remaining delegates to get to 1237, now it is down to 52% and he still has NY in his pocket where he is leading by 50 points. So if you give him NY, that means he only needs to win 40% of the delegates in the remaining states.

As far as Brexit. Obviously the attacks would have a kneejerk reaction to that issue, but the thing to remember is that as far as border security, the UK would not benefit from leaving the UK. They already do not share the free travel part of the EU and are protected by the channel. As far as security, in or out, it is the same for the UK.

Thank god we are not in the schengen zone. Not that we don't have home grown organisations capable of carrying out attacks , but it makes things a bit more difficult. I'm not sure why the Belgian attacks planted a bomb in their own city though. I mean I understand why (revenge for the arrest) but I'm not sure it was a wise move for them.

In three years, the million muslims that Merkel invited into Germany will have EU documents, and will be able to travel to the UK without any restrictions - if it is still in the EU.
Why is the standard name for a permit to cross borders being censored???

Nothing is a coincidence. Of course that something this big would have a massive impact on almost all layers of society but in the end the truth could be more scarier than we might think. I am not sure that these migrations are an accident and I am more than sure that Europe as we now will no longer exist. It sounds prophetic but it really is a common sense. This is only a beginning. One thought came across my mind. How many attacks were there on the U.S. soil that were caused by these immigrants? This is just a question I had on me and I tried to find the answer, of course. San Bernardino attack was the last I believe and I think the so called terrorists were a couple with Pakistani origin but born and raised in the USA. Anyway, maybe my question was not very clear and if not it should be like that probably.
