http://www.reuters.com/article/us-verizon-cyber-idUSKCN0WQ2KK The breech affected VZ Enterprise -- not consumer -- customers. Nevertheless I would hope VZ reviews the security of consumer accounts. Let's see how Bloomberg, CNBC and Fox Business report this in a few hours at market open.
I am glad it didn't affect consumer accounts because I know plenty people who use Verizon for their phone service. It is not a good feeling when anything you own or have access to gets hacked. The Target security breech was the worst in my opinion, because it affected so many customers.
Confuscious say sun is hot round ball of bright in the sky. Verizon and these other companies handling everyone's data can't hold on to it or control the quality of who they have working for them ever since they decided to outsource it all. They use tech that is not secure and then wonder why thousands or millions of accounts get breached? This is why we cannot have nice things. Not only does Verizon let it happen, they insult the intelligence of people after they do. Not cool. The attacker probably got to a non-essential system and typed out passw0rd to log in. That's what makes people a hacker these days I guess. Easy access, quick rewards and fast payments.
A security breach is something that I think most companies will fear the most and especially if the breach is likely to affect customer accounts. While I'm sure that most companies these days are tightening the measures thru have in place to stop this from happening, the hackers are also getting more advanced aswell.
Anytime I hear some news like this I cringe a little bit. It seems like they are coming out more and more too, and they just get passed off like they are no big deal, but I know if any of my information is at risk I would be really worried. I have Verizon too, but I have not heard anything personally so I assume I am okay, but it still makes me nervous.
