Some organizations are treating religion like a business. They use it to garner the needed support to transform their denomination into empires even cultists have cashed in and have used these advertisements to help to attract mass followings.

I always wondered this myself whenever I saw or heard one of those ads, and then I quickly was reminded that it was all about money, of course. I guess you can pass it off as spreading the good word, and maybe there is a little bit of that in there if you want to remain a little bit positive, but it is probably mostly monetarily motivated.

On a macro level, this has always bothered me. In the Judea-Christian-Islamic traditions, one of the "givens" is that there is:

    1. A single God.
    2. He wants us to have a relationship with us and for us to obey him.
    3. In order to do that, he gave us communication in the form of a book or books. For Jews, it is the Tanakh and Talmud. For Christians, the Bible, albeit in three different flavors (Catholic, Orthodox, and Protestant). And for Muslims it is the Qur'an and Hadith, though the content of the latter is a matter of violent disagreement and, oh, the Bible of the Christians was his word until we humans screwed it up. Not to mention the Mormons think it is more like Bible (correctly translated, of course), the Book of Mormon, the Pearl of Great Price, and Doctrine and Covenants.

That all seems well and good, but then why is there, quite literally, tens of thousands of extant religions, all of which disagreeing on the "Truth" (capital T). If one expands that to defunct religions in the aforementioned traditions, it numbers well beyond the six figure mark.

So, which is it?! You'd think the communication of a perfect, all knowing being should be crystal clear for all. And yet, here we are ... why do they need to advertise. ;)

P.S. And this post doesn't even begin to cover the other major world religions.

Religion need to advertise because, Religion is ideology of 1 prophet and some people, who don't use brain even 10%, who can't figure it out, why we must follow morals ?? they have no choice except become follower of any religion, they follow anybody else's ideology. who use brain, he can learn from his own experiences and other people's experiences. don't need to tell him, what to do and what do not. he can find his own religion or ideology in his own nature, attitude and behavior, which suits him as a gentle, moral human.

so i believe, religion need to advertise because, some people need guidance. If they feared God, they will follow morals with superstitions of rewards, keep world peaceful, this was old idea. today, some of these people are ready to kill anybody on the name of 'God'. They forgot importance of morals .

you are loyal to god ? you are honest to religion ? then go and kill that person , who speak against our god. God will reward you for killing . some religious masters are using brain-dead people this way. Even that brain-dead person can't think even I'm loyal to this foolish religious master, not god. I'm honest to any foolish religious master's ideology, not religion.
(my own experience is, even 1 person abused god from heart, God don't bother about abusive words, In fact, God see, Love and dedication of that person for God. 16 years ago, I was doing meditation in Ramakrishna Paramhansa's temple, I was very anger, I abused him whatever i want, inside my mind.call it, chat with him or abusive meditation, np. after some time, I don't have any word to abuse him and suddenly i heard voice near my ears, 'even if you abused me with love, I will accept that too'. From my eyes tears came out and I regret for what i did )

educated and moral people, I don't think, they need any kind of religious guidance because they do their karmas and they know golden rule, by burning neighbor's house, I will never have peace inside my home. Tomorrow, same fire can burn my home also.

I'm personally against any kind of religious propaganda to minors. Especially, the children under 16. If a person puts on a religion, that should be completely his or her choice.

Religion has its place in education as a literary source. All of the holy books are very good pieces of literature nothing more. I honestly cannot stand people shoving their religion down minors throats as well as people knocking at my door telling me to donate to their fund.

I've always been a firm believer in a persons right to express their religion freely; just don't shove it down peoples throats as it's going to do more bad than good in the long run. Example: my dads extremely religious family pretty much guaranteed his atheism.

I guess they wanted to spread the teachings they believe in. They wanted to spread their religion. Probably, it's all about being exposed to different beliefs. For us to make a wise choice, we have to know the different beliefs or religion, then we choose.

Thеy shоuld bе wеlсоmе tо sаy "Wе bеliеvе thаt аll rесоvеry frоm illnеss, inсluding but nоt limitеd tо аsthmа аnd multiplе sсlеrоsis, is thе wоrk оf Gоd." I think that's religion all about: convincing people. As you've said, you find it really annoying maybe because you're 100% sure about your beliefs but some others don't and that's where those people hold on to, I guess. And let's face it, sometimes is kind of fun to talk to them, or at least it is for me, I think that's cool to know other's people perspective of life in general.

Religion is supposed to be impartial and not try to impose its vision. It should help people find a way out of various situations and see themselves as happy people. But all this is practically unrealizable in the real world.
