I had no idea that there even was a " Catholic Church Insurance Ltd" type of company.
Well I guess they have THOUSANDS of records of instances of members of the Church involved in pedophilia or trying to cover up said instances.
They collected these mostly during the 90's to as they say "reduce risk from litigation of victims of sexual abuse."

But of course they are not just going to open up the files to the public.
Why is this organization so hell bent on protecting rapists?

There's no way they can be compelled to make the records public. The only person who could demand that the records be made public is the Pope but as this would be embarrassing to the Catholic church, I doubt he wants those records being opened up to the public. And as the church is willing to pay millions of dollars to victims they believe that's good enough.

I just wish that the Church would disclose these information for the public. It can be a way to help the victims pursue cases against their abusers and in a way, move on with their lives. I know many of these offenders are already held at prison and are serving sentences.

But there are also cases like Pickering's case where he has some hidden wealth in another country. These hidden information can be great for compensation for the victims. Although in no way that money can help them forget about the incident and at least it can help them rebuild their lives.

The only way to keep their name clean is to be honest. We do know that there are hidden files and so we do know crimes have been committed. What's even the use of hiding them? They only need those information and maybe in that way, by helping the victims, the world will be more understanding of their plight.

Wouldn't God also be a person who could demand the records be made public?
For all the claims of their boss being this big lovable and forgiving guy, you think perhaps he would be motivated to make this right.
I don't even understand why he keeps employing these people, if he is all knowing then he must know which guys are abusing and which are not.
I think he should have a moral obligation to not only fire all the abusers but do something to help out the victims.

But of course, much like the head of most of the big organizations in this world they only seem interested in making/keeping all the money they can by whatever means and covering their butts.

At the present it's humans who have the obligation to clean up this mess. Arrest the pedophiles. Get the victims justice. No one should be above the law. There has to be a way to force them to reveal the identity of all the paedos in those records.

The headquarters of the Catholic church is probably like a country unto itself. Therefore, if they don't want to release these records it's unlikely that anyone could force them to do it. It's a shameful thing, however, that a church of all the organizations, will have to be forking out a considerable amount of fund for insurance coverage for child molesters. Why are they being protected from going to prison like other persons who would have done similar deeds?

You bring up a very interesting point.
Not probably, but IS it's own country! Vatican City is considered it's own sovereign nation (well city-state technically, kind of like Singapore.)
Makes things even more complicated, because there is no government they have to answer to except their own.
