This is a good move by Starbucks. They'll probably have huge tax write offs because of it as well. They like to use their efforts to help people as tools to gain more profit. Like the Ethos water they sell. It's over 2 dollars a regular bottle, and they claim that a certain percentage of the profit will go to bringing water to needy countries. Over all as much as I complain about corporations like Starbucks, at least they're doing something that will benefit somebody other than their executives.

While they might give out a small percentage, it's a thing that makes the buyers fell ok for overpaying by about 400%.
If you want to help then it's better to just donate money directly to the charity of your own choosing instead of buying $2 water bottles. :p

Good for Starbucks. Though they tend to lean left, I still support them. They do some good things as a company and seem to take care of their employees. I would like to see more companies do similar things. Feeding the needy is something we should all play a hand in. We're very blessed as a nation and should see to it that we take care of those less fortunate than us, which are many both here and abroad. Props to Starbucks.

You can see why though a lot of these companies don't do more things like this, as sometimes no matter what they do its not good enough.

If I was the owner of Starbucks and I made this type of gesture, I wouldn't expect to be ridiculed for doing it, and at the end of the day, wether people think its a tax write off or just a way to get rid of unwanted food, whatever the reason is...homeless people are getting the benefit, so is it really such a bad thing?

The thing is Starbucks has been around for so long, so why has it taken this long for them to do this? Maybe to up their image which has been sullied a little by their ethics, other competitors, or that they had a food recall? I just don't think it's that special as lots of companies do this already and looks like a publicity stunt. I loathe Starbucks and this doesn't make me think they are any better still.

That's a pretty good gesture. Btw, I hope the food they are going to give is not expired.

This is such a great thing to do. Way to go guys. I would even like it more if I didn't know about it :) Or if I found out over somebody and not from some news. I understand that companies try to use everything to promote themselves but still it is a good way to help. Very unselfish indeed. I actually never ate there but I believe it is better than simple fast food and that is even bigger plus.
