For those of you who are Trump supporters on here, could you please explain to me why you think he should be elected president. My intent is not to start a huge argument for or against him here, but I am just curious why people think he would be a good leader because I do not see it.

Well, you asked for Trump supporters. I however, am not one. I can say that I think most people don't bother to look at his political stances over the years. He's flip flopped back and forth between both of the parties, and doesn't seem to have any governing philosophy at all. I think what people seem to like about him is that he's willing to say things that conventional politicians won't say. For better or worse, he usually says whatever is on his mind. I guess it's a nice change for the people who support him.

I'm no Trump supporter, but it's pretty simple to see why he's gained such a large following. You look at some of his rhetoric that he spews about Mexicans, Muslims, and building walls, etc. Unfortunately, there are a lot of Americans that agree with a lot of the things he says. If you live on the coasts and in big cities, it may be puzzling to you, but all of the south and middle American is a whole different animal.

I can't stand Trump, he is simply pandering to people's fears and racism. I think also he offers an alternative to those who are looking for an "outsider." I think also people do admire his personal success. The fact that he has done this largely by stiffing his contractors, and taking money from the "little guy" or "average Joe" doesn't seem to bother most people. I think Hillary got it right when she named him the Donkey aka Jackass of the decade.

I believe the answer to this question is another question. Why not? I mean you had worse choices than him. Look at Clinton and Bush. They were just terrible and Clinton was so-so but Bush was just awful for the most of his presidency. Trump will at least better than Bush was although he has some weird, at least weird, thought about some issues. I cannot see him be worse than Bush, Nixon or way back in the past Hoover, Tyler, Fillmore, Pierce and many more if you really think hard and if you know your history.

The Philippines democracy is patterned after the US. Coincidentally, both countries are having their presidential elections this year. The system, according to some political analysts, the way the voters choose their candidates is by popularity. And although some voters choose wisely as taking time to evaluate the candidates and choosing the lesser evil, still it is the popularity of the candidate that always matter. And with that imprimatur, it is obvious that Donald Trump is the most popular presidential candidate to boot. So I am betting on Trump to win the Republican nomination and later the US presidency.

    It is very easy.

    1. The USA is 28th in the world in education.
    2. Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian are ´celebrities3. The deep south is still pretty racist, so stuff like the wall and muslim bans sells well
    4. Because of #1, the average voter no longer has the ability to do research and find out that most of what Trump says is factually wrong.

But the biggest reason is just the Republican Party.. for 20 years they have moved the party away from an economic party, and instead a social one. They have moved themselves to be anti-intellectuals. Climate change doesn´t exist, The earth is 6000 years old.. and saving the confederate flag is an important equal right.. and the heroes are now a 4 time divorced county clerk who won´t give gay marriages, a racist rancher who steals from the gov, and the ex-Gov of Alaska who gives about the same type of speech as a crack whore would. The Rs won a lot of congressional seats by playing to the dumbest, most irrational part of the population and they have been doing it for 20 years.

So now you wonder why their base has a much lower economic and educational levels.. while they think a reality tv star is appropriate to be president. If you want to blame one person more than anyone, blame Karl Rove.. He is the one who got Bush2000 elected by using those tactics. No longer going after the intellectual arguments, instead using a bunch of emotional social issues.

Because in a world where most people think politicians are all the same, corrupt individuals, Trump says what people want to hear. If he gets to be president however, we'll see what happens next....

Well... as some others mentioned, I'm not a Trump supporter, I think that he has a really primitive way of seeing things and somehow he just stands up for things that aren't possible, like kicking out all the mexicans of the United States, like... come on. But in the other hand, I think that he has a enormous psychological influence in a lot of people, and I think that's amazing, how he can tell things the way that other people believe in him and actually support him.

This part amazes me. You see people interviewed where it goes like this ´ I support Trump because he says it like it is.. he said X´ interviwer: " you realize Trump has already changed his opinion on that issue because his facts were wrong" ... ´ I do not care, he still tells it like it is´.

I do not say this lightly, but it is almost like battered wife syndrome, or a situation where a guy habitually cheats on a woman but the women believes him after every incident.
