I'll leave my comments about this sort of thing short and sweet;there needs to be some sort of alarm in the same way that there is if you start the car without having a seatbelt on, or driving without a passenger being belted up. It won't cut down on the people who do it intentionally-and I'll reserve judgement on whether these people did or not as I'm not one to believe everything printed by the media-but it certainly will cut down on any accidental occurrences.
I certainly agree. Pressure sensors could possibly be installed directly underneath the seats, and it could use a combination of a thermometer and the pressure sensor to determine if someone is both in the car and it's hot. They could install some sort of automatic air-conditioner, which boots as soon as it detects that someone is alone in a hot car. Of course, this feature would obviously have to have an option to be turned off, and I'm sure it wouldn't entirely stop the problem, but it'd be a big step towards it. However, are car manufacturers responsible for solving the issue? I think someone more needs to be done towards stopping people from doing it in the first place. Maybe harsher fines or longer jailtime.
All of those things exist in modern cars already, they're just not designed to be put to use in this particular way. As for whether or not car manufacturers are responsible;if not them, then who? Should the government be responsible? Should the people designing the cars in the first place? Perhaps the police force aren't doing enough to crack down on this? If you keep passing the puck, no one is responsible. Not even the parents. Someone has to stand up and say 'I don't care if this is my issue or not, I'm going to help fix this, even if its just a little bit'.
The first punishment for both the dad and mom {deadbeats} of the deceased child is to be put through the same ordeal...same car, close all doors and leave them in the sweltering heat!...let them feel how that baby felt...did it ever cross their dumb minds to give up the baby for adoption if they were so tired of bringing him up...but to open that mouth and say you forgot your baby in the car and that you loved him...sure, its a pretty funny way of showing love.
For sure this is inexcusable. If I even saw a dog locked in a car on a hot day someone would wind up with a broken window or two and a not explaining exactly why I did it, let alone a baby. This is just ignorance, negligence, and plain stupid. Those people need to be taught a hard lesson.
It's certainly horrible in and of itself that the parents would leave their child to die of heat in a car, but it's even worse that they obviously didn't care. There's so much evidence mounted against them, it's hard to follow the principle of innocent before proven guilty, even more so when you can see that the father is obviously far from the image of an upstanding citizen.
Wait, you actual busted someone's car window?....you are awesome man!...thank you...the world needs people like you ...wished you saved that little baby
I read something recently (wish I would remember where) that said if you see a baby locked in a hot car, call 911 very quickly to get it on the record, and break the window if the door is locked. Now frankly I don't know if that's legal advice or just a citizen's idea of what to do, but I can't imagine that legal advice would say to stand there and watch a child die while waiting for police to arrive. I could be wrong... I guess it would depend on how long it would take police to arrive. Maybe the 911 dispatcher could tell you that. Yeah, I guess if the police could get there like within a few minutes, 911 would probably suggest waiting. Anyone know for sure?
I'm shocked that they could "forget" to take their kid out of their car for any period of the day. I don't have kids, and won't for a long time probably, but I think I would remember to take my children out of a hot car, especially during the summer.
It appears that they did it intentionally - the father apparently didn't want the kid, and took out excessive life insurance on him. It doesn't appear to have been accidental or due to carelessness. I could never imagine harming my child, and certainly not in such a sadistic, inhumane way.
