I cut cable 3 years ago and haven't looked back since. Netflix is all I need.

Of course Netflix is a better option and I have not been watching any movies in years. my dad has been lazy about it he just plays with his tablet. I cannot get over what the government did with Aereo cable.

First they get rid of analog tv,now this. Makes me even more thrilled that I ditched my cable account months ago, that's the only "silver lining" if you want to call it that. Cable television I believe is now deader than disco(or at least very well on it's way to being a thing of the past) and internet is now the way to go for your news and entertainment and so forth. It's bad enough that television is now 1/3 advertisement, but now people have to pay $150 to watch programming that is only 2/3 actual programming, so I don't see television lasting very much longer in the grand scheme of things.

Sorry for the little rant, it just bugs me that the Supreme Court would even bother with such a clear waste of their time.

Cable these days is ridiculously overpriced. I really need to cut it, but I enjoy watching the newest programs. As some other users have mentioned, Netflix is a good option, but it doesn't have the newest content.

A la carte cable will never happen. A lot of the smaller cable channels rely on being in the package deals of bigger competitors and it would most likely end up being more expensive than regular cable after equipment and the costs involved. Maybe if you only watched one channel ever but how many people honestly do that? The bigger channels will still be expensive while the smaller channels suffer.

Aereo wasn't the solution. It was just piggybacking on other people's property and didn't want to play by the rules. If you want to argue those rules are problematic, sure I'd hear that but they were taking content without going through the proper channels for it.
