The 10 best dividend stocks of 2017 will be large-cap stocks with a long history of providing investors with capital appreciation and a high-yield dividend that gets raised annually.

    Any Views anyone?

Few companies i believe that are going to perform good in the 2017 are:
    Target Corporation:
In addition to so many shoppers, Target.com is consistently ranked as one of the most-visited retail web sites. I also buy a lit ofcourse from it.
    Procter & Gamble Co:
Procter & Gamble provides an annual dividend of 3.03%, or $2.68 per share. The company has raised its annual dividend for the last 60 consecutive years.

These re going to be my must invest dividend stocks for 2017.

Not really a dividend stock, but I added $NKE today. It seems a bit depressed and I am looking for a rebound. The consumer discretionary sector seems to be better than expected in the 4th quarter, but the big box stores (e.g., $BBY, $TGT) seem a bit expensive and I am not going to chase them.

Many people in the UK tend to go for the utilities such as electricity and water companies for solid dividend income - and often capital appreciation in difficult markets.

That is very true, in fact the companies which thrive even when the stock markets are crashing are not the big shots but the essentials.

Day in year out $VZ and $T are consistently rated as good dividend payers. For me $VZ is delivering an IRR of 14% over the last 8 or 10 years.
