I think it's a wonder that we haven't gotten farther with this already. It's becoming clearer and clearer in today's society that marijuana is a benign, and even helpfully medicinal plant. The fact that it's illegal most places is backwards and ridiculous. Colorado has already proved that there's a huge amount of money in it, and that crime won't go up, quite the contrary in fact.

It's a smart economic decision, reduces crime, is important to medical research, and should be a personal decision, not one the government makes.

I think we're at a gradual turning point for marijuana in the US, as far as mainstream acceptance goes. Even though it is largely known that harmful effects of pot are largely overstated and that making it illegal does not help matters (I would say that making any drug illegal doesn't help matters, but that's for another topic), it seems that only recently more people seem to be rationalizing it. I wouldn't say that it is the most pressing issue of our time, to get it legalized, but it should definitely be legal because too many people are being penalized for something that they should not be.

Whether they will legalize it or not, it is out of our power to influence in such manner. Let's just hope for the best. :)

I always like Clinton, best president of my generation if you asked me. The wind is blowing towards legalization, I don't see it ever going the other way at this point. People in the younger generation want to legalize it, to some degree it's losing negative connotation to it as well. And the fact like so many celebs do it is making it more mainstream.

Whether it is pot, weed, or tobacco I letting the states decide to legalize pot makes me wonder. I do not think the states would really take the issue seriously. Clinton being a pot head and trusting the states to make a decision make me question his judgement.

Whether marijuana is legalized or not, it will still continue to be used. People get more creative how to grow it and even sell it in public. Is there a way to legalize marijuana for the benefit of the masses? Medical marijuana has so many advantages and making sure that it gets into the right hands could be a step forward.

Sure, Bill Clinton can say what he pleases and in fact makes sense, the states need to consider the consequences of approving it, he's right.

I do agree with Bill Clinton in this case, though I think it's odd that he's suddenly in favor of federalism when he clearly favors a top down, centralized approach to a lot of other issues. I personally feel like it's best to leave most decisions to a state and local level. I think we'll see the process play out and based on the results of marijuana legalization we'll see other states move to legalize the drug as well as I don't expect there to be a whole lot of problems to come out of legalization of marijuana. When people see it's not the end of the world there will be more pressure on public officials to make the move.

I agree with old Bill. Let the states decide wether or not to legalize marijuana use. Alcohol is far more destructive then pot. I've never heard of a person high on pot wanting to fight. All I see is happy people smiling and eating.

I do not know who may smoke weed, but, everyone who admits to smoking weed say that they love it and it is not harmful to he body, much like eating Cheerios. lol
I do not smoke weed, but, I would imagine it would impair a persons' judgement, especially while driving or operating heavy machinery.
