That documentary is a great one, but they just pass so much information that it's really hard to retain everything... I wonder if the real Wall Street has anything to do with the Wolf movie though.
The Wall Street from 1987 was truly encompassing all that was needed to be known at that time regarding investments. Though I don't know what to say about its copycats.
Investment movies are great because they are a window to outsiders from the reality of Wall Street, most people is unaware of what's going on there.
I agree with the previous posters. The Wall Street is a classic now and always will be. The second part wasn't so great but in my opinion it was worth of watching. The original Wall Street has good actors, even Charlie Sheen hadn't found drugs back then.
Yes, Wall Street was a big enigma to many until the movies start appearing, now it's not an enigma anymore, but this doesn't mean that most people invest or have success doing it.
Well I don't know how realistic a look it is when it comes to the inner workings of Wall Street, it must be embellished a bit in order to make for an interesting movie.
Trading Places is amazing, I love that movie every time I see it. It's a Wonderful Life is good too, it's what the speaker at my high school's baccalaureate service based his speech on. I agree with the above people that say they liked The Pursuit of Happiness as well, that was a very well done movie.
I definitely love The Pursuit of Happyness. It inspires me not only in investment, but in life. It makes me want to learn new things and try to see my circumstances in a different light. I have never watched Wall Street or Trading Places, but I'm planning to. I have found that watching movies with someone doing what I like to do is always inspiring.
I don't doubt that there are a few people that have gone through what happened in that movie storyteller, sometimes all a guy need is a break, but this break is hard to happen.
