Has anyone tried any two in one type laptops/tablets like the Surface Pro 3? I'm looking into getting something like this (I may just go with a laptop for better value for my money) for college, and was wondering if anyone else has had any experience with these. One of my friends has one, and he loves it, but it is so expensive I'm not sure it justifies the price.
A friend of mine just also bought the Surface Pro 3 and I have tested it. It is an awesome compilation however too expensive for my budget so I decided to stay with a laptop for now.
Had a friend with a Lenovo Yoga two-in-one, and boy it is sweet. If I had the money, I'd upgrade from my regular laptop to a two-in-one in a heartbeat. I'd say for your situation, though, a regular touchscreen laptop would suit your needs just fine within your budget.
This is pretty much the deal with these things. They're a great little concept, but god if they aren't extremely expensive considering you could pick up one of each for the same price, if not lower.
How much are these devices going for?...just checked out Dell flip hinge design although no price indicated...looks awesome...pros and cons of these devices anyone?...shed light on the matter
Amazon will have the Surface Pro 3 8GB/256GB in stock in a few days for $1,327, I see. There are some that cost less, though, depending on specifications. I need to buy a new laptop this weekend but I don't think it's going to be a Surface Pro, even with as totally awesome as they look.
My brother just picked up one of these, a lenovo. It cost a good amount, probably around $1500-1750. He loves it though and says it is awesome. In my opinion, for college you shouldn't go much more expensive than a macbook pro. He's only getting that fancy computer because he actually needs it to do engineering. Most of my friends are getting regular laptops because you can't beat its versatility and value. Good luck deciding.
I'm really not much into tech because I don't have the need for it, I use a desktop at work and a laptop at home and that's pretty much all I need for my online activities.
If you are looking for a laptop for school I'd suggest checking out a Chromebook. I bought one last year and it has been perfect for my school needs. You got everything from word docs, to powerpoint, to excel spreadsheets. All can be done offline as well so it isn't just an online only experience. Very lightweight and easy to use, Chrome OS is always improving and has changed a lot since a year ago when I first got it. Overall for the price you can't really beat a Chromebook if you want to do the basics for school. It doesn't really replace a home computer though. Bringing android apps to chrome os will change that a lot.
sounds convenient, did not know it can come in that form of two in one! that is great, might be expensive but it is a good investment.
