lol, that's true, I guess when we are considering to tell someone to shut up we are the ones that should shut up!
lol I wish it was that simple too. Most of the time you aren't going to get too far if you just tell someone to shut up. You're going to make it worst rather than do what you're trying to do. They won't listen to just shut up. lol
I guess that most people are just afraid to rock the boat by telling a very deserving person to shut up. It would be a better world if we would just tell someone to shut up and they will not hold a grudge. Until we get there, it is up to you and me to decide when we have had enough to walk away from the said person.
It depends on the annoying person, if that person is someone important like your boss or superior you can't just tell them to shut up, that will be disrespectful... And also there is the freedom of speech, you can tell people to shut up because you have the right to express your opinion, but they also have this freedom... I think the best you can do in this cases would be to talk nicely to this person and ask them if they can be more quiet.
It is much better to ignore people then to tell them to shut up. Telling them to shut up only aggravates them more and then they will rant more. Some people just don't know when to shut up so telling them to won't work. I think some people just like to hear themselves talk. Best to just ignore them and walk away.
Since the OP is implying about politicians who keep on talking in the original post, I think we'll be hearing more from them these coming days and months since election time is again coming near. As the campaign period starts, we'll be hearing more from them and it could really get irritating if we hear them talk a lot. I guess the only thing one can really do if one doesn't want to listen to someone talk is to just ignore them as what the others have said. I remember a line which has been frequently used regarding this issue, "listen in one ear and bring it out in the other ear."
A lot of people mentioning the First Ammendment rights and all of that stuff... do you think someone really cares about that? It's like you base all of your life on a piece of paper rather than your own reason and inner instincts of protecting yourself. That isn't good at all.
When you tell someone to shut up it shows that you are a rude person. I would prefer someone to tell me to be quiet. If you are playing with friends and family then it's no problem. But if you are yelling or screaming at someone it's just really rude and disrespectful.
It is a free world. You have the right to provoke and speak out your mind. I agree, sometimes it can be a little boring and disturbing but everyone is entitled to their opinion. The trick is not to care.
It would be easy to do that ofcourse but you'd hate yourself afterwards because it came from a place of frustration and anger that has no bearing at all with how intelligent or kind-hearted you really are. Some politicians are shit ofcourse but some out there are trying to do something really good for our country so it's best to keep your opinions in forums and let them have their right to speech. LOL
