At a press conference in Moscow's Swissotel Krasnye Holmy hotel on February 8, 2012, Alpari announced the launch of a new project -- ascending the highest mountains on each continent, the so-called Seven Summits. On February 10, an Alpari climbing team will be flying off to Argentina to take on the first summit, South America's highest peak, Aconcagua. In addition to expanding the company's presence around the globe, the team is hoping to use this project as a springboard to promote the benefits of an active lifestyle and raise interest in mountain climbing. The plan is quite ambitious: climb Aconkaguga, Kilimanjaro, Everest, McKinley, Elbrus, Kosciuszko and Vinson, all during the year 2012. No Russian in history has ever conquered all seven peaks within the course of one year. Additionally, the team plans to use less standard routes in ascending the peaks. Mount Aconcagua – Stage I of the Project Alpari already has several climbs under their belts: in 2010 an Alpari team raised the company flag atop both Mont Blanc and Mount Kilimanjaro.
