Wow that is one hek of a recovery - just seen the shares have moved to new high ground! In many ways FB is more than just a social media company now, it is more of a marketing/analytical company in my eyes.
Toally agree - to call FB a social media company does not give full credit to the mass of information the company has managed to gather and use rather effectively Is it time to buy? No lol DYOR
FB has performed very well of late so a fallback in line with the market trend is not totally unexpected - will it bounce once the trade wars settle down?
Next support looks to be around $185 - interested to see next set of financials as they must be trading well for the shares to bounce like this.
It is looking like the shares will settle between $185 and $203 in the short term - probably towards the lower end. I just feel there are too many negative issues ongoing behind the scenes such as the the data sharing scandal - we have not heard the last of this!
It looks to me as though tech shares which have done well over recent times are now under pressure - simple short term profit taking or a changing trend?
Is the cat out of the bag? Facebook admits to being a publisher rather than a "neutral" site:- https://www.theguardian.com/technol...ok-mark-zuckerberg-platform-publisher-lawsuit
Oh how the mighty have fallen:- https://www.cnbc.com/2018/07/25/tec...th-on-thursday-with-facebook-on-track-fo.html The contempt with which FB has treated its members for many years is now coming home to roost and set to cause a sharp downturn in profits. Will the company get another chance to rebuild trust with members or is this it?
When the leader of a company is bigger news than the company itself then, in my view, it is time for the individual to leave and let somebody else take over. Mark Zuckerberg no doubt has a brilliant business mind but when it comes to common sense and building a rapport with customers and shareholders, does he cut the mustard?
Chickens have certainly come home to roost with regards to Facebook which has been flying in the face of public opinion for many years, especially with regards to data protection and privacy. Shorters will see the perfect storm, reduced profits, increased regulations, growing costs and negative user feedback. Whether this is the end of Facebook is very debatable but has it seen its heyday?
