Hey guys, you seems like a nice bunch of people. Im a Swedish investor and normally focus on the swedish markets. But the American IPO climate has drawn my attention recently. How come no americans seems to be talking about it? Your IPO's gone off the roof lately.

When you sign up for say, 1000 stocks, of a hyped IPO, how many of those do you normally get? Like 10% of what you sign up for?

Hi @Don Johan - welcome to the forum.

It is impossible to say what level of shares you might receive in an IPO as it depends on so many different factors. You are correct though, the US IPO market tends to be very active and very quick moving. How is the IPO market in Sweden?

Right now its very bad here. Has been for the last year and a half. Before that It was great for 4-5 years.

Yeah, I understand that it's impossible to say how much you might get. But is it the reason why people don't seems to put much time into it? I mean, if you get 10% or so in those real good once, it's still a good investment if you can double those quite easily.

The problem at the end of our good run in Sweden was that it didn't matter if you signed up for $200,000, you'd always got stocks for around $500. The only companies you got a decent cut from was the once you didn't want. Lots of people got burned and no one made any profits. But this dont seems to be the case in US now though, right?
