I used to play online poker. I don't remember the name but it was one of those downloadable games that you could play with people all over the world. Never won once but it still was an awesome way to unwind after a long days work.

That's true, I think I need to gain experience haha, and I will only be able to achieve that by playing more. :D

To be honest, I don't find any similarities between poker and investing/trading. I sometimes play poker. Not a big fan.

Anybody know if it is easier to make money in NL Hold Em or Omaha. Because if Omaha is easier to make money in and less risk then I'll go ahead and learn it.

Just lost a tidy sum yesterday. Friggin KK loses to a flush on the river. Guy just pushed like he didn't care what was at stake. Unbelievable. I'll stick with investing.

I only play with my friends, and we rarely gamble money.

I used to play poker online but not anymore. My family got angry at me for playing poker online. But I want to play poker in the future.

I actually became interested in stocks and poker at around the same time. I was about 13 years old, 1996. This was before poker had become the phenomenon that it is today. I learned how to play seven card stud, Texas Hold 'em, and pot limit Omaha. I really loved playing hold 'em when I first learned. The first time I saw it played was between two guys at a chess tournament. They were playing a heads-up ring game. They started betting huge amounts of money, which just blew me away, because I was used to limit poker only. And when one guy pushed "all-in", I was even more enchanted. I always thought that it was like the movies, where if you couldn't cover the bet, you had to put up the deed to your farm or whatever. After that i was hooked.

But after a while, I went back to seven card stud for some time. But now, I really prefer to play pot limit Omaha ring games for low blinds and antes. I play really tight, and just try to see a lot of flops for cheap, and then bust someone when I have the nuts.
