Well well well, who would have expected a recovery from $140 up to $204? There must be something going on behind-the-scenes because rumour has it that the iPhone only has a couple of years left. If the company is looking at a total revamp of its portfolio then it would probably be best to let market snow as soon as possible? After all have we not waited long enough!

There is an argument to suggest that Apple is not worth its historic share premium and at the moment Chinese/US trade problems are not helping. I would not be buying this one just yet.

The short term rally for Apple does not seem to have follow through. Is the latest fall more as a consequence of the US/Chinese trade war? Or are we perhaps seeing an increase in the risk/reward ratio as a consequence of a potential war between Iran and the US?

The shares are now slipping back down and the brief recovery is well and truly over. In many ways Apple is still living in the "Apple bubble" of years gone by although things have changed. Keeping information back to "surprise markets" is a strategy which has worked very well in the past but with leaks and rumours, this strategy looks to have had its day. The only thing that will get Apple moving again is a large acquisition using a significant amount of the multi-billion dollar war chest.

The impending launch of a new phone and the Apple media department gets into action. The shares are now back towards record levels but have the prospects really improve that much?

I see the Apple marketing machine is in full flow ahead of the launch - they are giving themselves a lot to live up to. Lets hope they dont dissapoint!

A new online subscription TV service at a rock bottom price - desperate measures or a way to ruin the competition and then increase prices?

From a purely chart persepctive it has broken into new ground and there must be some significant upside from here. On the downside I am not sure undercutting all competitors is the way to go with the Apple paid TV service. Might this attract the attention of the competition authorities? Does it cheapen the offering? Is the Apple brand as strong as it used to be?

If the rumours true, Apple had the chance to buy Netflix many years ago for buttons - this must have cost them billions of dollars!
