May be a little girly, but what do I care? Coconut rum and coke is the best thing that I've ever drunk. Although I do quite like a Lemon Rusky when I'm just in need of something to cool down a bit, and don't mind splashing out on making a 'real' cocktail.

Mixed drinks are not for me, I had a craze when younger and tried most of them. Beer and red wine are my type of drinks. It is good fun to try some of the various types of beers on the market and a good quality red wine is always a winner.

Wanderingwildman, the key is a very good Vodka! The orange juice helps combat a hangover the next day. I can't drink many alcohols because I get dehydrated easily, but this one does the trick. Good luck with your taste test!

Agreed, cheap vodka is...well, it's rough stuff. But if you go for the expensive stuff...it's still fairly rough, but it can go down smoother.

Even worse than cheap vodka is cheap tequila. Run, do not walk, run from cheap tequila. You'll thank yourself in the morning. ;)

I just realized I'm overdue for a few beers. I haven't been properly drunk for months now!

Having said that, I have no plans on becoming an alcoholic. I have a local favorite beer -- Red Horse bottled by San Miguel. I prefer drinking one 1L bottle for a night. That may sound like a lot, but it's a lot less when you think about the people who drink several buckets :p

Oh SteakTartare!! You just brought up a memory that I tried to (and successfully until now! hehe) repress for years! I don't drink now, but "back then" I had a drink once in a while.

So someone gave me cheap tequila as a gift. I opened the bottle and it was like "sheesh, this stuff is like water, I'm not feeling a *thing*... I'll try a little more. Hmmm... nothing. Wonder if there's really a worm in the bottom?" I tried to find out. By that time I figured it WAS water or something and the gift giver tried to pull one over on me.

I had friends banging on my door at 3 PM the next day because I missed some very important meetings I was supposed to be in charge of... never knew what hit me and slept right though most of that day before they finally woke me.

Actually I do believe that was my last drink. I hate not being in control of my mind and what's going on around me with a fiery passion. I don't go any stronger than Caramel Frappuchino now... it doesn't make me oblivious to what's going on around me. :D

If I do drink which is rarely I would have a Jack Daniels on ice. I prefer a good beer though and an occasional glass of white wine.

I usually have a bottle of Makgeolli stored in my fridge for when I feel like having something to drink. It's a kind of Korean rice wine which is supposedly good for health but I just use it as an excuse to drink alcohol at home. :p[h=3][/h] photo257106.jpg
