When I first got my check I was ready to go to the movies. I first had a bank account at Chase. I just then decided to save the next checks for school.
I remember putting my first check in my bank account, memorable moment, no bank transfers at the time.
I'd been so broke previously that the first thing I did the moment I got the money was to celebrate. Unfortunately I went over-celebrated and got into that habit for quite some time. I'd get money and blow it off on, well, lots of things I didn't need. If I could turn the back time, I'd start a small business with that money and four or five years later I'd be financially stable. The things one does when he's young . . .
Took my best friends out to eat and blew nearly all of it on the weekend. I was super, super happy. Worth every penny and the hard work it took to earn it.
My first big check came as a refund check from college my freshman year. I had been awarded a pretty big scholarship and whatever was left after tuition, I got to pocket! It was around 8,000 dollars which was really big for me coming from a low income family. I spent it on a Volkswagen passat. I also did bit of clothing shopping.
Whoa what school did you go to where the financial aid was that big? I mean its good you were able to get that much money which helped in the long run.
I bought myself a new car. I made sure that I approached every beautiful girl I met and guess what after some time I ran broke! I don't regret it as I got several girlfriends from it and all of them are my best friends.
