Yea whats the point of living if you don't have ONE thing to look forward to when you wake up in the morning.

I always plan a vacation but I first have to pay my bills, and make sure everything is fine. In most cases I save for a rainy day.

My personal philosophy is that no reward is better than peace of mind. That's why I aim to save as much money as possible while I can. I don't take vacations, go on amazon shopping sprees, or take a week off when my investment pays off. I just want to retire early someday... after that, it's just 1 LONG vacation! I figure I still have some ways to go before I can live on the interest though.

It will depend on the kind of achievement I have accomplished. I will be happy to treat myself to my favorite meal or buy a nice dress that I have been looking forward to buying. Every time I receive my earnings, I must set apart a certain amount for rewarding myself.

I am usually pretty isolated from friends and family when i am working hard on something. So when I finally achieve success, I like to make it a point to get together with my loved ones. Depending on whether or not I think that they will be interested, I will share with them exactly what it was that I did to make money. If I feel like it is something that they could have success at, I like to offer them any advice or information they would like. If not, I am happy just to see them. But either way, I definitely like to share the wealth by taking them out to eat or something like that. Except when it comes to my girlfriend. I usually just smile and hand her cash. :)

I really can't agree with that philosophy, sure that it's much better to have peace of mind and financially stability, but there must also be some room left for "living" when you're young.
I'm not saying to go out and splurge your money on frivolous things, but there is a safe middle point between those two extremes.

I prefer small and simple rewards. Some may say that I already should be doing this but, when I reward myself I either give myself an hour of freetime or cook a meal (not worrying about calories, only taste). I typically don't have time for relaxation or free-time so an hour of it is definitely a nice treat. :D Also, I usually stress out a lot about healthy eating and meals so another way to reward myself is to eat whatever I want.

I decided to add to the rewarding self thread again. If I have a bad day, I treat myself better to compensate for it. I will ensure that I eat my favorite meal or watch a movie that I have been looking forward to watching. In this life I have learn how to be good to myself instead of waiting for someone to do it for me.
