There was a time when I thought about taking on a franchise, but then I actually did some research and pretty much changed my mind about the entire idea. In my opinion, it is too much of a risk, especially if you live in a not too populated area. Obviously if you cannot attract customers, you wont be making any money, which in turn will get your franchise shut down. You'll also need a very large sum of money to even get the franchise up off the ground to begin with. I'd rather just retire with my future military pension and be happy! :)

I prefer working for others since running an enterprise even in a form of franchise takes a lot of effort and long hours. In addition, it surely needs responsibility.

It seems hard that way but as long as you know how to run a business then it should not be that hard. I would think it would be interesting to run McDonalds and get free meals.

Yes, this is a goal of mine. Not sure what franchise I will operate, but I definitely want to own a franchise at some point. I think if I had my pick I'd go with a Starbucks or a Chick Fil A. Starbucks, because I just love their stores and coffee in general. Chick Fil A because they are growing very fast and seem to have high growth potential for the future as well.

Would you like fries with that lol? I would like owning Mcdonalds only for the free fries. If I am making a profit then I would be happy about that too.

I would take on any business that I would believe in, including a franchise. Sadly I don't have capital to invest and I am unable to save.

None of us do lol. I mean the capital would be more than a arm and a leg. It makes me wish that I was a billionaire right now.

I personally wouldn't take on a franchise, I think if I have the money to invest in something like that, then I might as well start my own business with no one to answer to.
With franchises you still have a big chance of failing due to the high franchising costs, which is why you see so many close up shop.

I would depend on the opportunity, but as a concept I am not saying no, anything can happen really and a franchise can be an awesome deal.
