Are you confused by what is going on in the Middle East?
    Let me explain.

The US and the West support the Iraqi government in the fight against ISIS but we do not want to interfere by arming them with the armaments which they purchased from us. Notably jet fighters etc.

We don't like ISIS, but ISIS is supported by Saudi Arabia who we do like.

We don't like Assad in Syria. We support the fight against him, but ISIS is also fighting against him.

We don't like Iran, but Iran supports the Iraqi government in its fight against ISIS.

So some of our friends support our enemies, some enemies are now our friends, and some of our enemies are fighting against our other enemies, who we want to lose, but we don't want our enemies who are fighting our enemies to win.

If the people we want to defeat are defeated, they could be replaced by people we like even less.

And all this was started by us invading a country to drive out terrorists who were not actually there until we went in to drive them out.

    It's quite simple, really.

The War on Terror is going great, just as planned... As successful even as the War on Drugs.

Things progressing nicely. Washington intervenes with a 'humanitarian relief plan'.

Though it's still dropping bombs, "There has not been a US airdrop of food, water or medicine since 13 August."

    Plan
    1. Cite humanitarian crisis as excuse to intervene
    2. Drop a nominal amount of humanitarian aid
    3. Drop a lot of bombs
    4. More bombs

    5. Try to work out how to expand the bombing into Syrian territory to bring down Assad, (Recently re elected by the Syrian people as the President)
    6. Install puppet government
    7. Build U.S backed/controlled, gas/oil pipeline
    8. Eulogise about democracy being brought to the M.E

The whole "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" has become more and more confusing as American intervention in the Middle East exists. The place has been in turmoil for a very long time now and all the USA measures seem to be doing is applying a band-aid on a wound when there is actually a leg missing. After all the USA's failures within the region there still hasn't been a major change in operations or some sort of approach to actually fix things. American response is largely reactive and only concerned with their own personal interests/investments within these areas.

It's sad to see as an American citizen honestly...
