I think Amazon needs to come up with some innovative products and ideas to reignite interest in the company. We've already seen them make a move in partnering with Coca-Cola in selling 16 ounce cans of the SURGE soft drink, which was really popular in the 1990's. I think this will be a big success for them, but they need to come up with more unique items to really take the next step as a company.

Amazon has the Fire phone but I have not heard anything amazing yet. You have companies like Samsung that have their Gear 2 smart watch and of course Apple Watch is probably going to dominate the smart watch scene when it comes out. There is still time for Amazon to come in strong they just have to own it.

I doubt Amazon is bold enough to really jump into the smartphone or smart watch market. The company knows how to make a great tablet, but the Fire phone has been an utter failure. No device gets discounted to 99 cents from a $199.99 price tag within a couple months of release. It comes with a major gimmick that nobody cares about (3D) and one useful feature in FireFly that should be implemented in other platforms.

It looks like a nice phone but I know people who has gotten it and they say that the Amazon phone is not that good. I was thinking about purchasing one but I think that I will just stick to my iPhone.

The deal is awesome, however, the functions of the phone would make it or break it for me. I am a android die hard, so, I will check out the phone. Thanks, for the share. It is shocking how the android phones are surpassing the iPhones. lol

Amazon's current so-called Fire "Tablet" level Kindle's are a complete joke. The Fire HD is a farce BEHIND in technology by 3 generations of Android Tablets - NO: GPS, Magnetometer, Accelerometer, Video Camera, Microphone and it weighs a TON. So you can't use any GPS Apps like maps or cheap Gasoline finder, no Locality features either, no Compass apps either, no Skype (no Mic or Video) and plan to carry it in a brief case, it's even too heavy for you pocket or a woman purse. The Price was an absurd $200 for a lousy 18GB Tablet when you could spend $149 on a Nexus 7 with all the missing HD features! The Kindle Android OS looks and acts like some bastard version of Andoird 3.1 from 2010, which no 5 Desktops and to total inability to organize your different purpose Apps on different Desktops! And all the buttons on the Kindles are in the wrong places too - top and bottom instead of on the long sides! Duh, it's supposed to be in Portrait mode dopes, it is a TABLET not a Notebook or Desktop!!

The Fire HDX gets some of the missing features, but it's even more expensive than a comparable Nexus 7 or Samsung Galaxy 7 or 8.

What do you get when you buy a Kindle is none stop ADVERTISING ala Amazon! EVERYTIME you turn it on, wake from sleep and even the pitching of PAY FOR Apps on your stupid looking useless ancient looking scrolling vertical desktop. And the Fire Phone I hear is just as bad.

I think this could be a good option for people who can't afford a more advanced phone (they can get so expensive!) but I won't be buying one myself. My current phone has better features. I have also not read many favorable reviews on the fire. I think it's better to stick to a company that only develops phones and similar devices.

Who that's actually really cheap? Who would the provider be, what I mean is - How would you pay your bill? To Amazon?
Who would the carrier be? That is amazing. I'm really considering switching my phone. It even comes with Amazon prime.
Basically they're throwing it at you. I would love that so much.

Who wouldn't enjoy this? Oh I guess apple users.

That sounds like a pretty decent phone. I'm not in the US so I'm not sure whether I'll ever get to try it out. I'm just surrounded by all things Apple and Samsung where I am. I've tried both sides and am willing to try another option. Amazon may well tick that box at some point.
