I'm becoming more and more jaded in terms of politics. I still view it as a necessary evil. It's one of the most important aspects of living in a free society. I think you have to hold elected officials accountable so it's important to know what's going on and be informed on the issues. It's very hard for me to find a politician that I really believe in though. I take everything a politician says with a huge grain of salt as they are looking out for themselves above all else, in most cases.

I feel that political issues are a bunch of boys' club having fun. Many of the politicians are related by blood or marriage. If you were to research early documents of the American government, you will find that Politicians used their titles in their signatures when they voted. I prefer not to buy into their games of war and political struggles. It just the same family competing for their own self gain.

My opinion is that the "public service" of government stopped being public service a long time ago. I just don't think the people's interests are being represented anymore. That's partly on us as voters for not being as active we should be as citizens, but that's also because politicians want one thing and that's only to do everything they can to get reelected. That's a big reason I'm for a 6 year 1 term limit for politicians. I think that stops the reelection montra that's run rampant throughout government and allows the houses and gov't to actually focus on getting things done.

Politics is pretty much about helping the next friend, and this goes from the basic to the top level, that is why corruption exists and always will exist.

The problem with politics is that everyone does not completely agree with one another. You can sit there and talk about how we need to work on cleanliness with public education and someone would come up with reasons why we shouldn't. Its a strong subject with a lot of slippery slopes and it gets intense just talking about it.

I think that the main issue about politics is corruption, we should strive for the common good and not to favor the next guy.

I agree, most of the time, people aren't appointed to certain positions based on how qualified they are and how well-suited to that job they are, it's simply based on who they know and what favors they can cash in on.
You appoint me when you're in charge and when I'm in charge I'll appoint you.
