Is something going on at Apple which has yet to be announced? I would have thought the shares would have consolidated at best and maybe even fallen back after the results. The slippage in shipping timescales for the new phones is certainly not positive although nothing major - what is pushing Apple higher? Is the company finally going to make that mega-acquisition?
If you strip out the shipping issues - which are just short term - the future looks good for Apple. As for a large acquisition - this is anyones guess.
Seen a report suggesting that Apple will not hit delivery targets for its new handset - but no weakness in the share price yet?
Markets tend to give Apple the benefit of the doubt due to its near flawless track record. Even when things do go wrong they have an answer at the same time as announcing the issue!
From a pure chart angle this price seems to be back in an uptrend and has further to go - does no bad news ever stick to Apple? Rumours that iPhone X stock will be 50% of initial expectations for 2017 and the stock goes up lol
Rather than investing a chunk in one go, I am thinking about picking up small batches of Apple shares on weakness and just tucking them away. This one seems to be the ultimate teflon kid - no bad news ever sticks!
Buy in small packets on sell offs, tuck away and forget about them - Apple just keeps going from strength to strength!
Despite many people being wary about the company's ability to create groundbreaking products on a regular basis, Apple continues to deliver. The cash flow from the iPhone and other products is massive - allowing the company to continue to builds it massive multi billion dollar war chest. How will they eventually spend this?
As the company gets larger and larger the risks that the next product will not be "ground breaking" increase. However, often against all of the odds you have to say the old management and the new management have delivered time and time again. What next for Apple?
Some people are suggesting that Tesla is an early stage immitation of Apple - loads of innovative products but yet to reap the full rewards. Any views?
