the trick is to get up when you are up. spend time rolling over bonuses at low stakes tables. i mean if you want to make money out of it . i have friends that play poker for a living. they play multiple tables and all. i personally cannot do that and just play for fun.
When you are playing at low stakes and micro stakes tables, be sure to know exactly how the rake works in that casino/website, that can really cut into your profits.
I used to play all the time but then they closed my account because it became illegal. Not sure how it's going these days, but I could make decent money off of it sometimes. I loved to play in mini tournaments when I was first starting out because I could always place high and get a good return.
It does sound similar to trading I never would have thought much about comparing poker to trading. I guess being a better poker player makes you a better trader.
yea to earn specific bonuses you have to rake and earn whatever points to unlock your bonus money. i just think its better to grind it out at a microstakes table than risk losing everything by getting rivered at the 10/20 table
I love playing poker, but I can never understand why I'm so damn bad at it. There is just something I'm missing. I still play a lot with my friends, especially on the weekends, but I've almost never ended a night with more cash than when I started. I really should read some guides or something...
depends on how you play man. are you a nit or aggressive ? you got to learn to gauge players and their psychology. Basically predict what they are going to do when the board is a straight/flush draw or how far they would bet a mediocre hand before folding.
I wouldn't describe myself as an aggressive player, but I'm not really a guy who holds back a lot. I guess I like switching it up to try and find my style, but it hasn't been that useful as of yet. I guess I will just keep playing until I start to understand the game more.
