Never been a fan of the industry - very very competitve and capital intensive and it just takes one accident or fault on a plane to bring the whole house crashing down. I have no doubt it will bounce but how long before the next major incident?
I am sure there will be a time to buy this one but it is too much trouble for me to even consider just now. Will the recent investigations open a can of worms?
I see Boeing doing a big PR push to close down concerns about the recent incidents. Rumours that whistleblowers had already expressed their safety concerns.
Looks like Boeing is undertaking some damage limitation on the back of the crashes. I saw somewhere they were saying the pilots might have been partially responsible.
A report that fliers will avoid the Boeing 737 Max for at least 12 months does not bode well for the company's reputation. Was this negative feedback behind the latest slump in the share price?
Spin, spin and more spin. The Boeing PR machine is certainly very busy! There are so many rumours, stories and news articles it is difficult to know what is going on.
I would not rush in to buy this one just yet. I think we have yet to see the "massive sell-off" often experienced at the end of a bear phase.
