So, what d'ya guys know about the cannabis investments these days? There were some nice news piece released late January and early February. I wish I would have invested in that market right before the press releases came out then. All of the cannabis stocks seemed to do really well after that press release.

Anyone know of any other breaking information coming out over the next two months or so? I'll give you a list of some of the stocks that I am keeping an eye on; they are all considered penny stocks of course.

    GreenGro Technologies - GRNH
    GW Pharmaceuticals - GWPRF
    Hemp, Inc - HEMP
    Terra Tech Corp - TRTC
    Cannabis Science - CBIS
    Medical Marijuana - MJNA
    GrowLife - PHOT

Also worth note are Advanced Cannabis Solutions Inc (CANN) and Medbox Inc (MDBX) though neither would not be considered penny stocks.

Really interested in investing in these companies because it doesn't present the same legal risk as investing in the actual business. Anyone have any suggestions on how to value such businesses? I don't think that traditional metrics will work in this case because the industry is so new.

Hopefully you have a stronger motivator to invest in "these companies" other than liking the product itself and wanting to avoid the legal risks :) ... Thankfully I have a mutual fund that's doing pretty well because my "playing" with CBIS isn't turning out so well. I've tanked about 20% but since I'm not an emotional investor I'll hold on to it with the expectation that the whole industry will 'turn up' in the up and coming months.

It might be a good investment. There are quite a few countries I think where cannabis is legal and is used for medicinal purposes. You would have to look at the companies annual reports and see what you make of them. They seem to be doing well.

Honestly, with the way things are going, I can easily see these kind of stocks continuing to rise quite steeply. Of course, I'm new, so I still have a lot to learn, but it seems like this is a classic case of supply and demand.

It's a growing market and I think that more and more states and - eventually - countries will start to legalise cannabis. The companies there at the start will be the market leaders for years to come and so this is one penny stock sector I predict will actually see profits.

Agreed. Getting in now, early will work out well in the end I think as cannabis becomes legal, but I'm just wondering if it's worth it, as obviously big companies are going to make the profits and be the ones selling the cannabis rather than the smaller companies.

The way cannabis in the American market works is that as this generation grows wiser of the benefits and ways of cannabis, we are starting to accept it more. We have legalized it in two states and I can foresee it being legalized in a few others in the next couple years. Marijuana can quite possibly be the new 'tobacco' in the US, in terms of a taxable, controlled substance that is straight $$$.

Investing early and big would likely yield high results. I don't see it being a steep rise, but a sure and steady crawl upwards.

Hmm, not sure it'll ever explode the way tobacco has, bu I certainly see your point.

With the rising trend of e-cigs, I could definitely understand if tobacco backs down a little. There isn't really a substitute for cannabis though, if you're looking for a marijuana-high. If you want the taste and smoke of tobacco, you can go with an e-cig and practically get the same effects.

We are already at the point where we understand that tobacco is bad. It is unhealthy, smelly and affects everyone else around you. Why not go with an e-cig?

Marijuana, however, is on an incline because we finally understand as a whole that it is beneficial in countless ways and can be a straight financial deposit as a controlled substance. It's bound to continue at the rate it already is.
