I'd like to know more about CEFs. The biggest issues I'd like to know is the way you find out how much the fee to purchase the fund costs and how do you know the current premium/discount of the fund?

    Thanks

I'm not sure what average fees are because they vary firm to firm. The current premium/discount can be checked by comparing the MKT rate against the NAV. The NYSE has CEF listings, and asset firms have the data freely accessible on their sites. I should say that one line of thinking on CEFs is that as they are an income producing investment it sometimes makes more sense to look at the yield you are aiming for rather that the premium/discount perspective.
