The Washington Post's Chris Cillizza suggests that it is too late for anyone to replace Hillary as the 2016 Democratic nominee. PAC money had long been swept up and spent, putting other candidates behind the 8-ball. State- and local-level political operatives, long dedicated to her candidacy, would have to do a mental reset.

Hillary's difficulties may yet result in an interesting political dance. ABC News broke a story over the weekend that a offsite backup of the wiped email server, delivered to the Feds last week, may in fact exist. Further, the number of confidential emails found in the DOS review of her emails is reported today as over 300, up from 60.

    Giddyup.

I think as long as the Republicans put up a sensible, inspiring candidate they are going to win. Hillary is far too corrupt and damaged. If I were the Dems I'd run Biden or someone else. Clinton isn't going to be a viable candidate if this bad news keeps piling up. Shes a bad candidate even without the baggage, but this just makes her toxic in my opinion.

I agree with the banner story that there is no other option for the Democrats but Hillary Clinton. Her name was there since last year and the Democrat's fault is that they did not nurture any other name. It was always Hillary like she was already the heir apparent to Obama since last year yet. Now, I am interested in seeing a collision between Hillary and Donald Trump. Expect fireworks from both sides since they are both interesting characters and with a good load of intriguing background.

People have such amazing short term memories. We were saying the exact same thing 8 years ago. In August, 8 years ago if you asked anyone except a very hardcore democrat who Barak Obama was, they would have had no clue. Hillary had all the PAC money, all the endorsements and all the name recognition. And ironically, she is making the same mistake she did 8 years ago.. she is putting effort into Iowa. 8 years ago, the smart thing for her to do would have been to ignore Iowa ( a difficult state for her) and just concentrate on NH and Florida.. Instead she put a lot of time into Iowa, and when Obama beat her in Iowa, it was newsworthy, not because he beat her, but because she TRIED to win and he beat her. She is campaigning heavily in Iowa, and if someone beats her again, it will be the end of her, just like 8 years ago.

As far as a national campaigne.. forget about it. Unless the Reps put someone moderate on the ticket that fights against Trump on immigration, the Reps cannot win the electoral map. Hillary or any democrat will wipe up Bush or Trump on the electoral map. Forget about national polling, the states are what matter and Florida, Nevada, Virginia, Ohio are all going to turn decidedly blue if there is an anti-immigration Republican. The National polls will be neck and neck, but the electoral college will be crushed.

You guys are thinking the same as Karl Rove did last time when he sat there befuddled on Fox news when they kept announcing state after state for Obama and he was sure Romney was going to win. You are not looking at the huge change in demographics towards hispanics which tip a lot of states 1% towards dems.

Should Biden decide to run, rumors have it that he's close to making that tough decision, he'll be the only viable option for the Democrats. Should the email scandal sink Hillary and it appears like it will, then Biden would get the Dem nomination. But Sanders could be a dark horse . . . so it's too early to write off the Democrats.

Call schadenfreude if you like, but I can't help but find the hilarity in the Hillary meltdown. And agreed, the Dems are now in a precarious position. Who do they have? A couple of no-names and an avowed socialist. Good luck with that.

I think the only reason Hillary Clinton may actually have a shot at the white house is because the Republicans have not put up a good enough candidate. In my opinion, I would rather see another Clinton in the white house than another Bush or Donald Trump. I don't think the email scandal will sink her down.

I think that Ben Carson could be the best candidate in the whole race, personally. As long as Donald Trump and Hilary Clinton don't win this election, I think I will be content.

Trump and Carson are the only two Candidates on either party that ARE NOT Politically Correct Bought and Paid For Career Politicians. I like them both but really pulling for Donald Trump.

Perhaps. However, there is a very real chance she will be indicted on multiple counts. If so, her political career is over. There are some details here.
