Do you agree with Death Penalty? Some countries punish crimes with death. If you support this, what kind of crimes deserve the death penalty? Do we have the right to take one's life?
The short answer for me is yes I agree with it. I know that there is so much to it in terms of social implications and religion and everything else that you can lump in there, but I just think that when there are 7 billion of us, which is too much, and some people are incapable of rehabilitation, so it just makes sense to have it as an option. I can see the other argument, and in no way do I think that it is a simple issue, but that is just my opinion boiled down a little bit.
I agree with the death penalty. In my country the death penalty has been suspended for many years, many people have been calling for its reinstatement but the Government is unwilling to satisfy this request because of internal and external pressure not do so. A singing artist recorded a song: "an eye for an eye, fool want to take my life and have his own." The authorities hastily banned the song. However, I share the sentiments of the artist
I'm for the death penalty. I'm sure many others have opinions about this but personally I feel that anytime you take the life of another human being, via murder or homicide, then the death penalty should be on the table. I think in some places rape used to be punishable by death, I would be curious to know why that changed (and this isn't to say that I support rapists being executed...but that's a very thorny matter which gets into subjective arguments about what the just punishment for rape is).
Yes. I do not see the point of putting someone behind bars for the rest of his life... I mean what's the point? If he will never be let out then he will live his life in a cell somewhere... is that any more humane than just ending his misery. On top of that, keeping someone there for 50+ years is well... expensive. It might sound a bit rough but why should tax payers money be used to offer decent living conditions to criminals who will never be let out?
I am completely opposed to the death penalty as it is a punishment that is from centuries ago when there were few prisons and the judicial system was basic. These days in a civilized society there are other methods of punishment, and as there have been more wrongful convictions (US mainly) then executing an innocent person isn't very clever is it? It has happened and courts do apologize to the family, but while you can release a person from prison, you can't bring them back from the dead.
Death penalty is an easy way out for criminals. That's why I don't support the death penalty. When someone commits a crime, any crime, they should be locked away for the rest of their lives.
It's kind of a sensitive question. Well, I don't condemn the state for killing very dangerous people. Like terrorists, for instance. They deserve to be eliminated. I'm also an honest taxpayer. As a taxpayer, I don't want my money to be spent on lifetime prisoners support. Instead, I'd like them to be spent on charity. You guys understand me, I guess.
I think rehabilitation with the threat of state-approved execution should they prove incapable of reintegration is the ideal route. As soon as you say "we're going to kill you" without "we are going to attempt to fix this," you just promote more of the behavior, because you are focused on fixing it after the fact rather than recognizing what causes it.
I think I might have posted on this before... Nope. I recognize no authority trustworthy enough to be given the power to murder people.
