IMO it hardly matters if one is a democrat, conservative, etc. What I know from experience is people always want change. The party which promises change gets the support of the people. So regardless of what the ideals are, the voters never get what they want - POSITIVE CHANGE, most of the time. What can they do to change this? Well, first they need to get more involved in politics . . . right from the grassroots — weed out the bad leaders and maybe in future when someone says they're Democrats or Republicans it will mean something.
I served 4 years in the military, am a productive and law-abiding citizen, employ at least a few people both directly and indirectly, provide a valuable service to a handful of people, and pay a shitload of taxes.
