Baba Vanga was a blind Bulgarian mystic who predicted 9/11 and also that the 44th President would be African American. She died in 1996, but predicted in 2016 there would be a Muslim war and the end of Europe.

Now, while I hope the EU disbands for political reasons, I don't want it to disappear, but are her predictions something to consider, or did they inspire?

That is really scary. I mean really scary. The end of Europe...what exactly does that mean? Where would everyone go? I guess I am going to have to read the article in depth. It does seem like we are headed for end times for sure...whether you believe in the bible or you don't, there are far too many coincidences with what is predicted in the end times. It is very frightening, however, there is not much we can do about it.

Maybe I'm a bit more of an optimist (or a bit more of a cynic) but I tend not to buy into those that predict the future in that fashion. If you study Nostradamus you'll see that so many of his prophesies were wrong and the ones that were supposedly right could have been interpreted in a number of ways.

It's human nature to listen to the ones that sound correct and ignore all the ones that they got wrong - speak to any equity analyst. I don't know what Baba Vanga's supposed success rate is but if you take enough shots you're bound to score some goals.

Just like Nostradamus who has many predictions when he was alive, This Baba Vanga has her own. In any prediction, unless specific in nature, I'd say that it always depends on the interpretation. During the cold war in the 1970s, there came out an article on Nostradamus' prediction that the anti-Christ will come from the east - that is pointing to China which at the time is not considered a world power. Now with that end of Europe prediction, what has the EU say to that? I guess that will not happen.

I'm more interested with what she predicted 200 years from now and above. Cloning? Other planet colonization? Communism taking shape on a massive scale? Now that's something I wish I could live through. This is like all my favorite sci-fi films actually coming together and happening in real time. In that regard I suppose immortality wouldn't be so bad.

No one can "predict" the future.
You can take a look a trends and make a best guess.
Go and actually read the non-sense she talked about, it's vague BS.
A prediction would be "America will be attacked by terrorists flying planes into buildings in New York" not "America will be attacked by steel birds."
This junk just remains vague so after the fact people can try and tie things together.
A simple matter of fact is "seeing the future" is 100% impossible, if there was even a .00001% it was possible then time/causality as we know it is wrong.

Her prediction about the last President of the US, what would that mean? She got his ethnicity correct but with all predictions it's how they are interpreted afterwards.

I hope what she means by the end of Europe, the end of the EU and countries regain their own borders and policies again to protect themselves. That is slowly creeping in with the major players like France and Germany adapting the rules to suit themselves. Eventually the rules will become a mere framework as they were initially as countries (like France) put themselves before the EU. Merkel looks unpopular right now, and the right wing party in France support a Brexit.

This is the same way in which I view people who say they can predict the future and prophesies and such.

I could say that tomorrow there will be a great rift between Europe and America. If I'm wrong what I said will be forgotten about, if something does happen then what I said will be seen as a prediction of events to come.

Prophecies uses imagery most of the time. It makes it harder for people to understand what the prophecy is all about until what has been predicted comes to pass.

Anyway I don't think any of Baba Vanga's prophecies inspired ISIS. Muslims have their own prophecies about Caliphates, a leader who'll united Muslims and the end of the world. This IMHO is what would inspire ISIS to start butchering people because they believe their leader is that one person who will unite all Muslims.

Well the war has been on for sometimes and with predictions, it's never accurate on timing so maybe in 2016 things will come to a head and there will be a 'world war' against the Muslim radicals? Clearly being politically correct has not worked and people are afraid, and the governments want to remain politically correct, however, some are tiring of that now and need to take action.

Some say hers were similar to Nostradamus, but I found his predictions just as vague, but then it maybe how people have translated them, maybe things have been lost in translation?
