How many people on the board live off their investment returns, to a certain extent, or are they simply a bonus and investment for the future/retirement?
I keep any and all realized gains, dividends, bond interest, etc earned in my portfolios in those portfolios - and end up reinvesting that $ sooner or later. I also put money away each week into my retirement accounts and taxable accounts. I plan to continue to do this until I decide to retire from managing others' assets - probably at least another 11-12 years.
Great idea JR - it is all good and well making money but one or two bad deals can knock you for six. Putting away some of your profit into an account each week makes perfect sense. Happy retirement here we come
