As a (mostly) long-term conservative investor I have to say perceived bear markets don't really bother me in the long run. To be sure, there may be momentary agita before common sense returns. I view sagging markets, such as in the '70s, as good opportunities to accumulate wealth. Dollar averaging and dividend reinvestment paid off in spades.
Mr. Buffet himself said most "experts" can't beat the market. Many people do quite well just tracking the market long term. That was actually a very entertaining article. Some of those quotes gave me a chuckle.
